Trains
A number of students come to school by train, mainly from Swindon and Chippenham. The bus station in Bath is a short walk from the railway station, with a frequent service up to the school.
Lift Sharing
Many parents have found this a useful way of saving time and money. This is something we support and encourage, as it reduces congestion near the school at busy times of the day.
Dropping off & Picking up at the Senior School & College
Parents are asked to drop off and pick up students outside the front entrance of the senior school only, on Lansdown Road. Other entrances are on narrow roads in a residential area and we wish to avoid creating additional congestion and hazards.
Parents are also asked not to drive into the school grounds. We have many blind corners, and there are always pupils and staff walking around the site.
Dropping off & Picking up at the Junior School
We have tried to make this as safe and convenient for you and your daughter as possible.
Drop off by the main gates - You can pull in where there is a designated drop off bay on Lansdown Road. The younger girls can go into the Gloucester Hall to be supervised or can accompany the older ones, who congregate in the playground.
Drop off Zone– If you pull up on Lansdown Place East (an extension of Lansdown Crescent), there is very easy access via a short tarmac path to a green gate. This brings the girls to the top of our site, where a member of staff is on duty; they then go into the playground and are supervised by another member of staff. Year 6 helpers wearing bands are on hand to meet the younger pupils.
Nursery parents can drive onto the site with the little ones but must be away from the premises by 8.45 when the main gates are shut – for health and safety reasons.
Parking – should you want to park in the vicinity of the school, there are places offering free parking in the 2 hour or 4 hour bays. You can also use the Residents’ Only Parking Zone 7. However, you do need a special permit from the BaNES Council. This is available for the year at small cost from the school office. It allows half an hour’s free parking between 8.15 and 9.00 in the morning and between 3.00 and 5.30 in the afternoon.
For further details on any of the above please contact the school office on 01225 313877.
