Academic Scholarships

Academic scholarships are available for entry into the Sixth Form and are awarded entirely on academic merit, as a proportion of the fees for two years.  The scholarship examination for internal and external candidates will take place on Tuesday 15 November 2011.  Should you wish your daughter to be considered for this, you should register her by sending in the registration form and fee by Monday 24 October 2011. In addition, a scholarship application form needs to be submitted.

For Sixth Form Academic Scholarships, all students (both internal and external) sit assessment tests in Mathematics, Science and an additional language (French, German, Spanish or Latin).  There is also a general essay paper and all students will be interviewed by the Head and Direcor of College.  

Specialist Scholarships in Art, Drama, Music & Sport

Specialist awards are made for entry into the Sixth Form to internal and external candidates who demonstrate outstanding ability in art, music, drama or sport.  Decisions are made on the basis of an audition/practical or on the presentation of a portfolio of work.

Should you wish your daughter to be considered for a specialist scholarship, you should register her by sending in the registration form and fee by Monday 24 October 2011. In addition, a scholarship application form needs to be submitted.

BURSARIES

Means-tested awards (up to 100% of fees) are given at Year 7, Year 9 and for entry into the Sixth Form to students who demonstrate outstanding all-round academic ability. In order for their daughters to qualify for a financial award, parents must also complete an assessment of income and assets in order to establish their financial need. Forms are available from The Royal High School, and the assessment is undertaken by the Finance Department at the GDST’s Head Office in London. Bursaries are reviewed annually.

The deadline for receiving applications for sixth form bursaries to GDST London is  24th October 2011.

HM Forces Discount

We are delighted to give daughters of Service families a 10% discount off the full boarding fees as practical demonstration of the school's historical links with the Army. If  a student holds a scholarship or bursary that is worth les than 10% of the boarding fees, then it will be made up to 10%. If it exceeds 10% of the boarding fees, no discount will be allowed.
