Overview Of Boarding for U.K. and International Students

To our boarding students The Royal High School is much more than a place of learning; it is their home for much of the year.  We provide a secure and supportive environment in which they can develop friendships that may last a lifetime. Our boarders experience a communal way of life that develops their self confidence and is an ideal preparation for university.

We enjoy one of the most favoured locations of any school in the country, within walking distance of the centre of the beautiful historic city of Bath. Students are able to enjoy its wonderful surroundings and the many cultural and recreational activities it offers.

Most of our boarders live in the United Kingdom,  but we are delighted to be host to a substantial number of oveseas students from all over the world, ensuring that we  fulfil our  ambition to be a genuinely international place of learning.

We take pride in the high quality of care we provide for our boarders.  Our dedicated team of residential staff has a blend of youth and experience, and is here to encourage, listen and advise when ever students need support.  Students also have access to our own medical staff. 

The Royal High School has a long tradition of educating daughters from HM Forces families, which goes back to our foundation in the 19th century. We understand the needs of Forces families, particularly at times when parents undertake challenging postings abroad and their daughters may need additional support. 

Boarding for Junior School students

We are pleased to announce that, due to the increasing number of requests from current and prospective parents we now offer full or weekly boarding to older Junior School children in Years 5&6. They are accommodated in our School House on the Senior School site and are escorted to and from the Junior School each day. Please contact our Registrar, Lynda Bevan if you require more information.
