Netball Tournament at Kingswood School

From Wed 6 Feb, 2008

U10 C Team

The girls were outstanding and worked effectively as a team throughout the tournament and really set the standards for the other teams to follow. They went the whole tournament without losing a game and really coped well with all the rotations which were happening during half-times and change over periods. The girls were exceptional and should be very proud of their performances.

The final results for the C Team were as follows:

RHS V King Edward's                        Won 5-1

RHS V Monkton Combe B                 Drew 0-0

RHS V Kingswood                             Won 3-0

RHS V Monkton Combe                    Drew 1-1

U10 B Team:

The girls started brilliantly, scoring with their first shot of the game. They moved the ball up and down the court with great pace and accuracy. They lost their form in the second and third games but responded well to the team talk after their defeats.  They put all of their efforts into the rest of their matches and produced some excellent moments of play. They have learned some valuable lessons from both winning and losing.

Player of the day: Beatrice Jones for consistently hard work and excellent support play throughout the court.

The final results were as follows:

RHS V Monkton Combe                  Won 6-0

RHS V St Margaret’s                       Lost 0-2

RHS V Kingswood                           Lost 1-3

RHS V King Edward's                     Won 6-0

RHS v Kingswood C                        Won 6-0

The U10 A Team:

Miss Elsley led the U10 A Team, and was suitably impressed with the way in which they dominated the play. Their passing was outstanding, and made use of everybody’s talents on court. They used the space well and looked towards goal at every opportunity.

Player of the Day: Izzy Hodgson for excellent execution of passes throughout the day.

RHS V Kingswood (U10/11 Mix)          Drew 4-4

RHS V Monkton Combe C                  Won 6-0

RHS V Monkton Combe B                  Won 6-0

RHS V King Edward's                        Drew 4-4

RHS V Kingswood U11                       Won 7-0

The Y5 squads clearly have a huge amount of potential and should be very proud of the progress they have all made. They are a real pleasure to teach, and finally they seem to reaping the rewards for all their effort and commitment to the sport! Well done to all those involved and keep up the good work. Again, many thanks to all of those parents who came to support, it was lovely to hear you all cheering from the sideline, and a great opportunity to see a fantastic display of the girls skills.
