One World Message
From The Bath Chronicle Thu 27 Oct, 2011
Youngsters at a Bath school have been sharing the message of One World during their harvest festival celebrations. Pupils at The Royal High Junior School performed songs and poems on the theme of remembering that we all live on the same planet so we must learn to share and be thankful for food. the performance opened with a hoe down, where the whole school sang a song called Everybody Come to the Harvest Fair. The children then read some of their own poems, before the choir sang a native American song, Colours of the Wind, which describes how everything in humankind is linked to nature. Year 5 pupils dressed as bakers and sang The Bread Song before showing off a special giant Harvest loaf which a parent had baked specially for the occasion. This year harvest donations will go to Bath homelessness charity Julian House and Save the Children.
