Podium Spot for Kathini

Modern Pentathlon - A Royal High schoolgirl achieved a stunning podium finish in the British Pentathlon championships, held in Solihull. Twelve year old Kathini Logut has only been competing in Pentathlons since November but is well on the way to becoming a rising star in the demanding all-round test of athletic and sporting talent, which comprises shooting, fencing, showjumping, swimming and running. Kathini left to the last event to secure a medal, coming from behind to win the 1,000m run in a time of 3mins 29secs. She has a punishing training schedule, which includes running with TeamBath AC and swmming with the Rising Stars programme at the University fo Bath. She is also a member of Bath Sword Club and also training with the fencing club at The Royal High, where she is a Year 8 pupil. Having gained her first medal in a national event, Kathini is working to secure her ranking and hopes to be selected for future national and international competitions.
