Schoolgirl in Museum Film Role

From The Bath Chronicle Thu 20 Oct, 2011

A teenager from Bath has been chosen as the voice to be heard in an innovative project at the Holburne Museum.  Around 40 hopefuls auditioned for the chance to be the voice of a new film telling the story of classic furniture, called Louis Ghost Chair,  which is being made by artist Simon Martin.  The film will now feature Royal High School pupil Rosy Kendall as the narrator, looking at the classic Louis XV chair and other spin-offs including that of French designer Philippe Starck who created a contemporary transparent chair called the Louis Ghost.  The film will be shown at the museum from January before embarking on a nationwide tour.  Rosy, who is in Year 11 and studying drama at GCSE, has performed in a range of school productions including Bugsy Malone, Oh What a Lovely War, Comedia Dell Arte and Guys and Dolls.  Outside school, Rosy studies speech and drama and is working towards her Grade 7 singing exam.  She is a member of the Zenith Youth Theatre Company and is rehearsing for its current production, 42nd Street, which will be performed at the Kingswood Theatre next February.  She said:  "I'm really thrilled to have been chosen for the voiceover for Louis Ghost Chair and it's very exciting to be going to London for the recording in November."  Meanwhile, the museum will be hosting a Dr Who themed Big Draw art event from noon to 5pm on Saturday.  The free family event, called Time Travel Drawing, will look at the importance of drawing through the ages.
