Girls' Day School Trust Athletics Competition

In spite of a heavily depleted team due to injuries and many other commitments, inlcuding the South West Championships, our athletes put in some impressive performances at this year's GDST competition today at Sutton High School. Competitors from Year 7 upwards took part, with many having to compete in events for which they had little preparation.
Notable individual successes were:
Saskia Guscott 1st in Year 7 100 metres
Claudia Dickinson 2nd in Year 7 1500 metres
Cliona McKenna 3rd in Year 8 Long Jump
Saffron Green 3rd in Year 8 Javelin
Georgina Cornish 3rd in Year 8 1500 metres
Natalie Seagrove 1st in Year 10 & over Long Jump
Natalie Seagrove 3rd in Year 10 & over 100 metres
Jess Heffer 1st in Year 10 and over 300 metres
Year 10 team 3rd in 4 X 100 metres relay
