Hockey fixture v Stonar School

We fielded four teams in today's fixture, with both schools' teams putting up spirited opposition.
Our U9A side lost narrowly 3-2 in an exciting game against Stonar a team, but emerged worthy 6-1 winners against Stonar B. Particular congratulations go to Angel Chant, our top scorer and Izzy Joliffe for great work in defence.
The U9B team also enjoyed mixed fortunes, going down 2-0 against Stonar A, but emerging 6-1 winners against the B team. Jemima Jupp & Selina Brown were our star players.
Our U8A team played heir first ever competitive match and showed tremendous character. They conceded three goals before staging a great fight back, pressing hard for an equaliser as the whistle went, with the match ending in a narrow 3-2 win for Stonar. Alexandra Johnson deserves special mention for her outstanding work in defence.
The U8B team shared the honours in a 2-2 thriller, with Polly Allan snatching an equqliser for us in the dying seconds. Martha Brain & Kate Perkins also produced some outstanding teamwork and passing skills.
