Infants' Sports Day

Fri 19 Jun, 2009

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 girls got on a coach up to the windy, chilly Churchill Playing Fields today to take part in our Infants Sports Day.  After warming up and stretching, we lined up ready for the races. We started with the exciting running races and everyone ran like lightning!  It was hard to decide who the winners were! There were lots of other races including the particularly challenging Water Race.   In this race, competitors had to hold a cup filled to the brim with water and race to the finishing line.  One of the runners, Freya Cumpsty, said "I got soaking hands!  They were dripping so much!"  After all the races, the girls were treated to a yummy ice cream because they had all been great competitors who had worked really hard. Finally we heard the results.  Grosvenor House had won the cup and they were over the moon!  All the girls had a good time and are hoping for an even better Sports Day next year.   This report by members of  Years 1 and 2.
