Records Tumble at Senior Sports Day!

What a perfect day we had for Sports Day this year - warm, but no too sunny - the perfect setting for a fantastic day of athletic endeavour. This year, as previously, Sports Day was held at the Sports Village at the University of Bath. Facilities there are perfect for hosting a series of demanding track and field events. All the girls from Years 7 to 10 entered into the spirit of the event, giving their all and behaving impeccably into the bargain! Of particular note were four new records established on the day;
- Kathini Logut smashed the record for Year 7, 1500m with a time of 5:36.3, beating the old record by nearly 17 seconds!
- Issy Perkins set a new best in the Year 8 Discus with a throw of 18.43m, 78cm further than the previous best!
- Issy then went on to set a new best in the Year 8 Javelin with a throw of 23.33m, beating the record by almost 1.7m!
- Jen Macklin shaved almost 1.5 seconds off the previous best in the Year 10, 800m race with a time of 2:45.2
Of course, the competition was also a House event and everyone who contributed helped their House team to win points on the day. The final scores were:

Wollstoncraft 427 points
Austen 403 points
Bronte 351 points
