Sixth Form History Lecture
Fri 29 Jan, 2010
On the evening of Thursday 28th January in the Bath Society Room – a group of Sixth Formers showed that they were true students, and scholars in the making, as they accompanied Dr Kolaczkowski and Mrs Ockwell to a Historical Association lecture given by Professor Ron Hutton on “Elizabeth I and the Historians”. Professor Hutton, ex-Cambridge and a key member of the University of Bristol History Department is a regular presenter on television, prolific researcher and writer. He delivered a fascinating and provocative lecture, giving a ready insight into the changing emphases of the historiography of Elizabeth’s reign. The Royal High School History Department is a member of the Historical Association, and values its links with the local branch. Dr Kolaczkowski has worked closely with the branch, organising numerous lecture programmes, and because of her particular research interests, continues to be a member of the History of Bath Research Group.
