Year 6 visit to Swindon Steam Museum

Tue 22 Sep, 2009

Our Year 6 children had an enjoyable day at the railway museum in Swindon today.  As well as discovering the age of the steam railway and seeing the marvellous engines and carriages of a byegone era, the children also experienced something of what it was like to be an evacuee during the war. They all dressed up in period clothes, complete with gas masks and packed lunches.  They attended talks  by members of the museum's education department, explaining what life was like during the war and the part played by the railways.
