Chloe and Izzy go live on TV with their new song
Wed 7 Sep, 2011
Sisters Chloe and Izzy Pinder, both pupils at The Royal High School, Bath celebrated a TV début last night, following their success in a prestigious nationwide competition to uncover new musical talent.
Chloe (Year 10) and Izzy (Year 7), write and perform all their own material. Their entry for this year’s UK Song Writing Competition, which is called “Hide and Seek” is a blend of folk and soft rock influences and deals with the transition from childhood to being a teenager. The song made a big impression on the judges, both for its lyrics and the gentle harmony of the two voices and keyboard. It was rewarded with a placing as a semi-finalist, in a competition open to all comers, including much older and more experienced writers and performers.

Having performed many times together, including a set at the opening night of The Bath Festival, the pair were ready to meet the daunting prospect of a live broadcast performance on Tuesday's BBC Points West Programme.
"We were thrilled to have the chance to do the song on TV, and pretty nervous when we discovered that several hundred thousand people would be tuning in," commented an elated Chloe. "But the show's presenters Alex and Andrew were very friendly and put us at ease."
