Meanwhile, pupils at The Royal High School have been transported back in time to get an idea of what life was like for evacuees during the Second World War. Year 6 children at The Royal High School visited the Steam Museum in Swindon where they saw the inside of an air raid shelter, tried on gas masks and looked through a typical evacuee's suitcase.
