Bath Schools Swimming Gala – Thursday 12th June - Years 3 and 4
17 girls from years 3 and 4 competed in the Bath Schools Swimming Gala on Thursday 12th June. The competition was hosted by Monkton Combe School at The Clarke Swimming centre. The swimming squads competed in a total of 12 races and came away with excellent results –
Four 1st places
Year 3 - Isu Staines (25M Backstroke), Isabelle McNab (25M Fly), 4x25M
Individual Medley ( Isabella Williams, Isabella Francombe, Isabelle McNab,
Emilia Sill)
Year 4 - Beth Jolley (25M Front Crawl)
Five 2nd places
Year 3 – Isabella Williams (25M Backstroke), 4x25m Free Style
Relay ( Sophia Hamling, Octavia Dunlop, Isu Staines, Ellie McKenzie)
Year 4 - Alice Pugsley (25M Backstroke), Alex Hayman (25M Fly), 4x25M Individual Medley (Alex Hayman, Meg Hughes, Alice Pugsley, Alex Staines)
Three 3rd places

All the swimmers applied their best efforts to every race and enjoyed fulsome support from the rest of the squad. The commitment and resilience shown by the girls is reflected in the fantastic results. - well done girls! Swimmers of the day are those who applied themselves to one of the hardest strokes in the competition – Butterfly – Isabella McNab (twice, in single race and again in the 4x25M Individual Medley), Alex Hayman and Alice Pugsley (in the 4x25m Individual Relay). Special mention must be made of the Year 3 Individual Medley relay team who provided a very exciting race and came away with a clear 1st place. We are extremely proud of all participants! Thanks too to Mrs Pugsley and Mrs Hayman for their help with organising the girls at the event.
