Netball Fixtures v Kingswood Preparatory School

On Monday the 21st January, the U9 A & B and U8 A & B teams were involved in their first ever High 5 Netball fixtures against Kingswood.
Despite the foul weather and bitter cold, the teams put on a strong showing, using only short balls to gain ground on their opponents. Each member of the squad played 4 different positions both on and off the court, showing their adaptability throughout the range of positions! From shooting to defence, to mid-court and scoring, the girls experienced a whole new system of High 5 Netball. They worked hard in every position to create scoring opportunities, but lacked a little knowledge in defence when trying to obtain possession! This is clearly something we now need to focus on in more depth, but the girls should be commended on both their attitude and efforts for these matches.

U9A: Lost 9-1
Player of the match: Esme Ivory-Peters and Yasmin Scarr
U9B: Lost 6-4
Player of the match: Harriet White & Alice Pugsley
U8A: Won 3-2
Player of the match: Ellie McKenzie & India Duke
U8B: Drew 2-2
Player of the match: Rebecca Woo and Emily Best
Well done to all who played, and many thanks to all the parents who came to support. It was fantastic to see so many of you there.
