Netball Fixtures v Kingswood school
Wed 16 Jan, 2008
The U11A team were outstanding, making excellent passing decisions both long and short down court. They focussed hard on their centre passes and put together some sensational moves through 1st, 2nd and 3rd phases of play. The shooters were on target and positioned well for balls under the post. The whole team defended tightly and took ball after ball to help gain their first victory of the season. The final score: 15-4
Player of the Day: The whole team (well done all!)
The U11B also put on an impressive display of Netball, fighting hard for every all, and mixing up both long and short balls into the circle. With numerous amounts of shooting attempts, only 4 were netted throughout the game. However, girls were asked for shooting opportunities and not scores, to enable them to focus on what they have been learning over the last few weeks. The whole team defended and attacked with conviction, and came out with a draw at the final whistle. Final score: 4-4.
Player of the Day: Ashleigh Davies & Ellie Cumpsty
The U10A team put together some excellent passages of play, but were a little frantic at times when distributing the ball. The girls fought hard to produce some great moves at the centre pass, as well as using a one handed long ball for the first time. The girls tried extremely hard to score some goals, but were just pipped at the post by Kingswood in the last quarter. With continued effort and training, the girls will see the benefits of their work shortly. Keep up the good work.
Player of the Day: Izzy Hodgson & Meg Norman
The U10B team also played intelligently, but at times, again very frantic. With emphasis on one handed passing, the girls were trying their best to put long balls down court in an attempt to make ground. On many occasions they were successful, getting the ball to their shooters for numerous amounts of shots. With the shooters accurately netting the ball, the score-line started to increase. With continued effort and determination, the girls fought hard to win the match convincingly. Final Score: 9-5.
Player of the Day: Annabel North
