Rounders fixture v Monkton Combe

Our U11 A & B and U10 A & B Rounders teams took part in a fixture against Monkton Combe Junior School today.
The U11A team started disappointingly, but gained confidence and form as the match progressed, particularly in the second innings. Monkton Combe eventually ran out winners by 19 - 13 ½. Our Player of the Match was Bella Plumbly, whose hitting and fielding were both outstanding.
Congratulations to the U11B team, who notched up their first win of the season in an entertaining and very close contest. they scored some excellent rounders and performed very well as a team. Dolly White provided inspirational leadership and Sarah-Jane Hailey deserves special mention for her brilliant fielding. the final score was 18½ - 19.
The U10A team proved to be too strong for the opposition with their superb hitting and accurate fielding. Excellent teamwork ensured a 22-12 victory. Player of the Match: The whole team (inspirational) with a special mention to both Isabel Dickinson for her hitting and Izzy Hodgson for her hitting and bowling skills.
The U10B team were exceptional all round; hitting, fielding, communicating, teamwork between peers and tactically aware. Their skills in both batting and fielding were exemplary and their spirit and commitment to the game is commendable. Player of the Match awards go to Emma Russell for her brilliant bowling display and her superb catches. Also, Annabel North for her inspiringly accurate hitting over long distances.
Many thanks for the continued parental support. It is fantastic to see so many of you encouraging your girls and their teams.
