U8 & U9 Netball tournament
Tue 24 Feb, 2009
The U9A started very well indeed moving the ball swiftly across the court. They defended hard and attacked slickly through the court, creating numerous opportunities at goal. Both matches were intense and real nail biters, with both teams showing their prowess in this sport. With great commitment and heart from the girls they lost the first match against KWD 6-2 and won their second match against St Margaret’s 5-1.The U9B also got off to a great start utilising the rotation system well. They produced many scoring opportunities but unfortunately missed a couple of crucial attempts. However, in the second match they played, they really found their form to produce some accurate shooting and ball movement around the court, to enable their well deserved victory on the day. The y lost their first match to Kingswood 8-2 but in startling form, won against St Margaret’s 4-0. Well done! Player of the match: Hannah Spratt & Isu Staines for excellent shooting. The U9C played one game against KWD, and mixed in with the B team to play against St Margaret’s. They started off cautiously playing the ball short and safe to ensure possession. The game was fabulous to watch, with ball moving from end to end on an equal par. The girls were outstanding in their defence and accurate in attack, earning themselves a draw against Kingswood 3-3.
