Silver success for hockey A Team

Congratulations to our Year 5 A hockey team, who put in some great performances at the inter-schools tournament at Monkton Combe yesterday, to clinch the silver medal. After battling their way through some tough fixtures in the group stage, they came up against a strong side from Monkton Combe Prep School. The match was very even, and ended goalless, resulting in a penalty shoot out, from which the Royal High edged out their local rivals by 6 goals to 5.
The team came up against the might of Hazlegrove in the final, who started the tournament with a track record of having won the competition for the last three years. We weren't able to turn the tide of history on this occasion, but our players acquitted themselves very well against worthy opponents, who were the only side to inflict defeat on our team. The silver medals awarded to each team member ensured that everyone felt pleased with their achievement.
