About Us: Spirituality

Whilst we are a non-denominational school which welcomes children from any religious background, or none, we recognise the importance of developing the child’s spirituality (understood in the broadest sense as that which inspires us). To enable this to happen we have regular assemblies each week of the ‘Thought for the Day’ type plus some religious assemblies (e.g. at Harvest Festival time).

Religious Studies lessons provide an introduction to world religions’ and humanism’s approaches to life. There is a dedicated place for quiet and reflection called ‘The Space’. This too can be used for assemblies, times of meditation, and groups like the Christian Union. The school aims to prepare each pupil for entry into the multi-faith world of the 21st Century.
