About Us: Individual Needs
SEN and EAL students
The college has access to a dedicated department to provide for the needs of every student. This includes overseas students for whom English is an Additional Language (EAL), as well as students diagnosed with specific learning difficulties.
We have peripatetic teachers who are dyslexia specialists, (one of whom is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator - SENCo), who provide lessons on a termly basis. Each student has a programme tailored to their specific needs, with an emphasis on revision techniques and study skills. Lessons are arranged in the student's free time to avoid disruption to timetabled subjects.
We also have two part-time EAL specialists who provide specialist tuition to those overseas students who require it.
