Dozens of pupils take up invitation to come dancing
From The Bath Chronicle Thu 24 Jan, 2008
Girls from across the country donned their dancing shoes to take part in a celebration of dance in Bath.
A total of 130 pupils from 14 schools took part in the annual Girls’ Day School Trust Day of Dance last week.
This year’s event was hosted by the Royal High School and the morning session comprised a number of workshops led by dance professionals.
They featured a diverse range of styles including musical theatre, contemporary and street dance.
The girls had the opportunity to work with dancers from different schools to produce a routine for the show in the afternoon.
Each school is a member of the Trust and had also previously prepared a performance.
Zoe Sheffield, director of sport at the school, said: “It was an exhilarating day for the performers, working with experienced and talented professional teachers.
“It was also a great opportunity to get together with other GDST school.“
Dance is now a really popular activity with something to suit all interests and abilities.”
