Girls' Chain Reaction Helps Collect items for Charity's Shop
From The Bath Chronicle Thu 3 Feb, 2011
Pupils at the Royal High Senior School have made a generous donation to Julian House's charity shop after spending several hours rooting through their wardrobes for old clothes. The students formed a human chain to load up a van with their donations, which also included unwanted Christmas girfts and books, to take to the shop in Walcot Street. School charities co-ordinator Abbi Freeman was delighted with its success. She said: "The pupils and teachers have collected an unbelievable amount." The charity's community fund raising manager, Cathy Adcock, was overwhelmed by the support. She said: "The commitment and enthusiasm from the school and from the pupils themselves has been amazing." She said the shop was always after new donations, adding: "We would urge any other organisations willing to do something similar to get in touch." Donations can be taken to the shop at 86 Walcot Street, Monday to Saturday, 10am until 5pm, or if you are part of a group wanting to arrange a collection contact Cathy on 01225 354656 or cathya@julian-house.org.uk
