PUPILS PUT THEIR TALENTS TO GOOD USE FOR A WORTHY CAUSE
Has Bath Got Talent? That was the question students at one Bath school have been asking to help raise money for a worthy cause.
A variety of solo and group acts of pupils from all year groups took centre stage at the Royal High School for a sell out evening of music, dance and drama.
Has Bath Got Talent? was organised by Year 11 students, to benefit the Royal High’s twin school in Kenya, the Crane Academy.
School spokesman Deryck Goodman said: “The quality of the acts was truly stunning, with many in the packed memorial hall having to give careful thought to how they would cast their votes.”
The winner was 17 year old singer and pianist Emma Holland who writes and performs all her own material. During the evening, which raised £700, the audience also watched a short video about the Crane Academy filmed by assistant head Lynda Bevan, who visited the school in October, with photographer David Partner.
A selection of his pictures capturing life in the African school were exhibited at Chapel Row last month.
