Remembering Graeme Preedy

The Head's Study

It was with great sadness that we heard on Friday 4th September that our Director of Art and Aesthetics, Mr Graeme Preedy, has died. He had been unwell for a short time; his death was not Covid related. I know that this will come as a great shock to students and staff past and present, as well as his friends from the wider Art community in Bath and further afield.

Graeme had worked at Royal High School for twenty years and was a hugely popular and inspirational Head of Department as well as a much loved Sixth Form Tutor. There are so many students and staff who will remember him with fondness, and particularly those who kept in touch with the Art Department and attended the annual Art Shows each summer.

In due course we will put in place plans to commemorate Graeme’s life and remarkable contribution to Royal High School and the many lives he influenced.

If you would like to write to Graeme’s widow, Jade, please pass these to my PA, Ali Mottram, and she will be pleased to forward these on. Jade has asked that no flowers are sent, but that any donations go to Dorothy House Hospice Care.
