We have had a couple of festive weekends and activities in boarding, starting with a trip to see the magical Longleat Festival of Lights on Sunday 3rd December. What an amazing sight, we were all amazed as it transformed into a land of fairytales. On Thursday 7th December the annual boarders’ Christmas dinner was held in the dining room with a fabulous disco afterwards – thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Our final weekend of 2017 in boarding was a wonderfully festive weekend. We started with attending and helping out at the School Christmas Bazaar, followed by a trip to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarves pantomime at The Theatre Royal in Bath – oh yes we did – and a quick look around the Christmas markets in Bath!
The girls woke up to feather-like snowflakes falling on Sunday morning and much excitement was heard around School House before they all headed out to play in the snow. A couple of snowball fights and a snowman or two later, the girls headed out into the snow to Royal Victoria Park to ice skate outside at Bath On Ice, who could ask for a prettier winter scene?
We discovered some ice-skating talent amongst the boarders and those who had not tried it before were managing to skate alone by the end of the session.
Finally, Gloucester House held their Christmas party on Sunday evening and a mince pie & mulled wine evening for staff on Monday, which was much appreciated on the coldest day of term yet! School House celebrated their last week with a House Secret Santa and plenty of doughnuts as a special treat.
The boarding staff would like to wish all the boarders a very merry, yet restful, Christmas and see you all in the new year for more fun to come!
