Last term some of our Year 11, 12 and 13 students entered the British Physics Olympiad Round 1, AS and Physics Challenge competitions. These are annual competitions hosted by the University of Oxford, which are highly challenging and are designed to test students’ logical thinking and problem-solving skills in a physics context.
Maia Eyre-Morgan achieved a Commendation in the Round 1 Competition as did Christina Hu, Anna Krystopik, Lucy Liu, Iris Song and Wendy Zhao in the AS Challenge. Five Year 11 students entered the Physics Challenge competition. Lynne Ling achieved a Silver award and Venus Leung achieved a Bronze Level 1 award, which meant that they came in the top 14 % and 28 % respectively of the 2,700 students who entered the competition from around the UK. The following students also achieved a commendation: Lilli Platt, Christine Wan and Anson Wong.
These are fantastic achievements for which all of the students are to be congratulated, and we look forward to continued success in these competitions next year.
