Eleven of our Sixth Form chemists took part in the Royal Society of Chemistry Olympiad recently. This is a two-hour paper designed with very challenging questions based around interesting contexts and is primarily aimed at Year 13 students. Highly commended were Maia Lunt, Tabitha John, Anson Wong, Venus Leung, Ashley Ulaikere and Genevieve Baller (all Year 12). Bronze Certificates were awarded to Kelly Tse and Remy Chan (both Year 12), Silver was awarded to Laura McNab and Farah Jabban (both Year 13), and a Gold Certificate was awarded to Crystal Liu (Year 13).
It is particularly pleasing that so many girls took part, and hopefully, all will have been inspired by the experience. A special mention should go to those achieving a Bronze in Year 12 as well as our first Gold award for a number of years!
