On Wednesday 20th of February, GCSE Food technology students had a three-hour practical cooking exam. They had a choice of three briefs: Food for children to include lots of fruit and vegetables, Food from a European cuisine of choice or Food for a Coeliac. The students needed to show off as many high order skills as they could and made their own flaky pastry, jointed their own chickens, filleted fish, made bread, made fresh pasta from scratch and displayed many other challenging techniques.
They each had to produce three dishes, either three courses or any three suitable dishes for their topic.
They all rose to the challenge and produced well-presented and delicious tasting food that they should be very proud of.
