In what has become a May tradition, our outgoing Year 13 dressed to the nines last Thursday night for a Ball to mark the end of their time at Royal High School Bath. An early start to exams this year necessitated a similarly early celebration, with the marquee going up on Chapel Field what felt like only days after Easter. The girls and their guests dressed to impress, dodging dramatic spring showers in their finery to arrive at a marquee festooned in its usual English hedgerow chic. Chilly at first, things soon warmed up thanks to the girls’ high spirits, and irrepressible dancing conjured by magnetic DJ’s Feel the Funk.
The dance floor would have been ablaze all night had it not been for the fine food, the flowing wine, some fun interludes courtesy of Mrs Duncan and Mr Hayward and the ever-popular photobooth. The evening wrapped up with a burst of fireworks, but the girls still had more dance moves to burn off before heading home to prepare for the formalities of Friday…the Year 13 Prize-giving and Celebration.
We wish all the girls the very best as they embark on their exams next week or, in the case of the IB girls, continue to sit their exams.
