Wondrous Wizardry and Dance at RHS

08 February 2017

Saturday’s outreach workshop saw 71 girls in Year 5 visit the RHS for the morning!

Our visitors were treated to a morning of ancient greek and classics with our resident wizards (I am assured only for the workshop) of Miss James, Mrs Isom and Dr McCarthy or, a BFG-themed dance workshop led by our super talented Lucy Thynne and supported by our GCSE dance students who then stayed on for the afternoon to practise for their moderation nonetheless!

It was a super morning of learning as well as interacting and making new friends. Girls attending came from 22 different primary schools. In addition to our own RHS Juniors, schools represented were St Julian’s Wellow,

Peasedown, Widcombe, St John’s Catholic Primary, Chewton Mendip, The Meadows, Freshford, Bathford, Filton Avenue Junior, Combe Down, St Mary’s RC Bath, St Mary’s RC Chippenham, St Saviours, St Stephens, Wick, Corsham, High Littleton, St John’s Mead Primary, Newbridge, Redfield Edge Primary, RHS Juniors, WASP’s, Heywood.

It was such a rewarding morning to organise and the feedback from parents and girls has been overwhelming with the next workshop on Saturday 25 March (Science Detectives and Dance workshop 2) already filling up fast.

A huge thanks to the amazing RHS volunteers who give so much of their time helping me on the morning, without you, it would not be possible!

Thank you Eloise Evans, Mathura Kathirgamanathan, Sophie Churchill, Sasha Kovaleva, Paige Urmossy, Madeleine de Marnix, Libby Hawkins, Sophia Karakusevic, Ava Karanjavala, Maddie Whitmore, Kacey Cox, Karah Parry, Annie Reynolds, Cleo Morgan, Isobel Kirkwood, Rosy Knox, Lara Krystopik, Isis Everett-Heath, Ashley Ulaikere, Freya Barter and Esme Curry
