On the Tuesday before half term, five Foreign Language Leaders visited the Junior School to teach the Year 3 and 4 classes Spanish. One group taught the Year 3’s about animals, first explaining the vocabulary using a presentation and then helping them improve this knowledge through vocabulary matching exercises, charades and a game of snap.
The other group took a Year 4 class through parts of the face by using colouring sheets and a ‘Slap the Board’ Game. Some of the girls were very enthusiastic and got really involved in the activities! We found the experience invaluable and were impressed by the enthusiasm of the younger students. It enhanced our leadership skills and was a fantastic opportunity to interact with the junior classes – we would highly recommend this to the next potential Foreign Language Leaders.
