Year 3 Go Camping

22 June 2017

The whole of Year 3 had been looking forward to the best event ever all week! The first thing that we did after school

The first thing that we did after school was play fun activities with the sixth formers such as tag, stuck in the mud and some bean bag and hula hoop races. A little later, when the mums and dads arrived, everyone helped put their tents up, all colourful and different shapes and sizes and there was even a vintage

Alan and his team prepared a delicious barbeque for us all to enjoy with scrumdidliumptious sausages and burgers, served with salad and coleslaw and followed by an assortment of homemade frozen yoghurts to cool us down.

It was a beautiful evening with warm sunshine and not a cloud in the sky. The mums and dads were all relaxing and chatting to each other. Some of the parents helped us on the scavenger hunt where we had to find insects, plants and animals

After exploring each other's tents and deciding where to sleep, Miss Appleby, Miss Hughes and Miss Brett had planned an amazing campfire for us. We roasted marshmallows and sang songs around the fire as it was getting dark.

Miss Hughes then read us all a story in the Celtic Hut before we got ready for bed. We stayed up really late and woke up quite early but it was the best time ever! I would do it again and recommend camping to everyone.

Emilia, Year 3

Huge thanks and well done to Sixth Formers Sophie, Izzy, Georgia and Minnie who gave up Friday evening to organise fun games for the Year 3 girls prior to their camp out on Friday night. The girls were superb and just fantastic role models to the little ones who were very happy to expend a little energy before their much-anticipated BBQ!
