'Your Daughter': A Programme of Talks for Parents
There are many issues that face our girls as they grow and develop into young women. At The Royal High School, we aim to provide support and information for parents as they navigate through the challenges of raising their daughters in the 21st Century.
To further increase the support we provide, we have put together a programme of termly talks for parents with expert speakers, covering topics such as developing resilience and happiness, surviving social media, how to motivate and inspire our girls, and the dangers of illegal drugs and legal highs. Girls of suitable ages will be invited to attend these talks with parents, or they will have their own version of the talk in school.
To help further develop partnerships between staff and parents there are also a number of drop-in tea and coffee sessions each year. These are occasions where parents can talk informally to staff and to each other about managing these challenges.
