What a fabulous start to the term it has been. The girls have got stuck into a myriad of activities from pond dipping, to scanning QR codes to discover their theme for the term. There has been a real buzz around the place, which has been fabulous to see and hear!
Tom Woods coordinated the near Herculean task of raising the roof of the Celtic hut and moving it into position to finish off the structure. The clouds dispersed and the sun came out as Nursery, Year 3 and Year 4 girls congregated to watch the ‘mission’. Ms Appleby, Mrs Cox, Mrs Stockley and I took our positions – I assumed the role of chief rope holder (although totally inappropriately dressed for such a task!). No success – Mr Woods felt we were too few in number, so Mrs Millard and Mrs Fernandez were drafted in, too. The signal was given and we lifted and pulled as appropriate. Some creaking and cracking was heard and we all felt worried that we might have bitten off more than we could chew! Eventually Doug Young arrived with the hopper bus so we called him over to assist. This was the extra pair of hands that we needed and we were finally making progress. Within minutes the roof was on, the girls cheered and we all heaved a sigh of relief!
Well, that was week one; what exciting treats await in week two? I can’t wait to find out!
