On Friday 19th October the girls in Year 4 performed their show, ‘Year 4 Entertains with Sparkle and Shine’ and they delighted their audience of family and friends.
The girls’ show of their own talents included dance, gymnastics, artwork, magic, drama and music. The theme of ‘Sparkle and Shine’ provided a wealth of colourful characters and wonderful music such as Shiny Happy People, Swing On A Star, Shine and Another Day Of Sun. We also made links with our class theme work on inventors and inventions with a quiz running through the show which our audience joined in with enthusiasm!
The girls worked incredibly hard and were amazing in every aspect - from preparing their items for the show, sourcing and making props and costumes, learning words and dance moves, organising themselves backstage, coping with quick costume changes, displaying brilliant teamwork and performing with energy and exuberance.
We were immensely fortunate once again to have the support of Carole and Penny who provided wonderful costumes for the girls. Thank you so much! We would also like to thank Mrs Wright, Mrs Robson and Mrs Stockley who helped with the girls’ hair and behind the scenes.
The fantastic ‘Shine’ set was designed and made by Mr Woods and created a stunning backdrop for the girls’ performances. Mr Woods also provided the lighting and sound for the show, so we would like to say a huge thank you to him for all his hard work.
Also, many thanks to the parents, who provided extra costumes and who also proved to be a wonderful audience for the girls on the day.
Well done Year 4 – we were immensely proud of you. You really did SPARKLE AND SHINE!
