Success at the BANES Cross Country Competition

10 十一月 2016

With immense pride I am extremely pleased to let you know that the cross country team have just represented the school at the BANES competition in somewhat chilly conditions. Our school cross country team had their first and it has to be said, tough outing at the competitive BANES competition. Up on Lansdown, the wind was blowing and the frost was only just off the ground but the excitement was building…

Clemmie, Emilie, Isabel, Charlie, Holly, Tegan, Katie, Aoife, Daisy and Jenny represented the school with the Year 7’s running 2350m and the Year 8 and 9 girls running 3150m which considering the 1500m at sports day is a good challenge, is no mean feat!

Whilst all of the girls tried their very best and were absolutely determined to do themselves proud, special congratulation must go to Clemmie who was selected to represent Avon after coming 7th from around 100 competitors in the Year 7 race. Clemmie will now compete in January in Bristol as part of the BANES team. Daisy and Jenny also deserve a mention for completing their first ever cross country race, and what a race to start in!
