Last Saturday the weather was good to us, happily, no crazy rains for us as we enjoyed another fabulous RHS Summer Music Festival, with the bulk of the funds raised this year going to the Friends of RHS. Whilst parents, children, staff and boarders relaxed on picnic blankets clustered around the stage or in shadier spots on the perimeter, feet tapped and hands clapped along to a wide array of musical performances from the Prep and Senior Schools on Paddock Field. We are delighted that many alumnae, following their annual reunion earlier in the day, also joined us. How lucky we all were to have the opportunity to listen to such a talented group of young performers.
Meanwhile, the BBQ sizzled, the ice creams flew out of the freezer and all were thankful for the cool drinks and sumptuous cakes provided by the Friends of RHS! The inflatable gladiator joust proved a popular addition to this year’s proceedings, whilst the face-painting and temporary tattoo stall did a roaring trade and the Prefect-run activity zone kept younger ones entertained. A huge thank you to the catering team, staff volunteers, girls past and present and all the Friends of RHS who helped to ensure everything ran smoothly on the day.
Thank you to our wonderful performers and of course to all those who came along and helped raise a great total not only for the Friends but also the Crane Academy, United World Schools’ Cambodia Group and Evie’s Gift. It was lovely to see such a wide cross-section of the school community come together for another happy occasion.
