An exciting Classics Masterclass including Harry Potter-inspired code-cracking and crafts for girls in Years 4 and 5 at any school.

Find out what it’s like to study Classics and be part of the RHB school community for a morning.

Students will discover some of the real Latin meanings behind names and spells in Harry Potter, before using the Classical Greek alphabet to decipher messages between characters from the stories. After exploring some Greek Mythology, they will  create their own bookmark to use when reading Greek and Roman mythological tales in the future.

Everyone is warmly invited to dress up as their favourite Harry Potter character, although this is entirely optional.

Your daughter will explore how girls are encouraged to be curious, confident and connected at Royal High School Bath.

Timetable

10am - Arrival and registration (students will be divided into two groups and do both sessions below). Refreshments available for parents.

10:15am – Session 1 (Code-breaking OR Mythology)

11:15am – Break and refreshments

11:30 am – Session 2 (Mythology OR Code-breaking)

12:15-12:30pm – Collection and departure
