Meet our Senior Leadership Team:
Kate Reynolds, Head
Kate Reynolds was formerly Head at Leweston School in Dorset and brings a breadth of experience to her role as Head at the Royal High School Bath. Kate has a commercial background, having practised Law in London and Somerset before moving into teaching English and Drama.
Claire Lilley, Head of Prep School
Claire leads the team of staff at the Prep School overseeing the curriculum and care of the children. A keen saxophonist, Claire joined the Royal High School in September 2019 from Sidcot Junior School.
Hadrian Briggs, Deputy Head - Academic
Hadrian leads on all matters relating to the curriculum, teaching and learning as well as assessment and timetabling. He teaches Religion and Philosophy at the Senior School and Theory of Knowledge in the Sixth Form.
Elizabeth Cunningham, Deputy Head - Pastoral
Elizabeth Cunningham leads on the pastoral care of the students, supporting the progress of each and every girl from Years 7 to 13. Elizabeth manages the day to day school routine, oversees the tutor system and wellbeing programme, as well as teaching English.
Nicholas Hayward, Director - Sixth Form
Nick leads our vibrant Sixth Form, ensuring ongoing development of outstanding post-16 provision at the Royal High School Bath. He was appointed to the post in April 2016 having previously been the Head of English at the school, a position he had held since 2006.
James Moyle, Assistant Head - Curriculum
James leads on digital strategy for the School, working closely on timetabling, teaching and learning, assessment and reporting, and academic evenings. He teaches Physics and IB Theory of Knowledge. He has been part of the Royal High School family since September 2013.
Mark Golder, Senior Teacher
Mark leads on compliance in the school. He also teaches Classical Greek, Classical Civilisation, Latin and History of Art and has been with the Royal High School Bath since 1986.
Emma Custodio, Head of Boarding
Emma joined Royal High School Bath in 2016 from Benenden School where she was Housemistress for 11 years. Having always worked in boarding, Emma has a breadth of experience within this area. She is responsible for the ongoing development of boarding and is Housemistress of School House.
Julie Hughes, Assistant Head
Julie Hughes is responsible for the strategic development and effective planning of the co-curricular life of the school and student wellbeing. She takes a leading role in ensuring and enhancing a holistic approach to the education provided at the Royal High School as well as teaching Physical Education.
Simon Butcher, Director of Finance and Operations
Simon leads the vital support services team at both the Senior and Prep Schools. He joined from Sherborne in Dorset, where he held posts as Bursar at Sherborne Qatar and Sherborne International after a long career as an Artillery Officer.
Sallie Taylor, Director of Admissions and Marketing
Sallie is a former Royal School girl and leads the admissions and marketing department, with a primary focus on the recruitment and retention of pupils locally, nationally and internationally. Sallie has held similar roles at Downe House and British School in The Netherlands.
