Taster Mornings

Taster sessions are a great way for your daughter to experience life at the Royal High School, Bath. We offer a range of formats tailored to your daughter's year group.

Prep School, 2026 entry and beyond:

Prep School taster sessions are available on request. 

For entry into our Nursery, your daughter is welcome to come and spend a morning or a whole day in our spacious, nurturing setting.  In the term prior to her entry, we offer a gradual programme of settling in sessions.

For entry into Reception and Year 1, we invite your daughter to spend a morning or a whole day in Nursery (for Reception entry) or Reception (for Year 1 entry) so she will be with her year group.  She will have fun making friends and exploring. Activities could include outdoor explore, cookery and ballet.

For entry into Year 2 – Year 6, girls are invited to spend two consecutive days with us with their current year group (for example, two days in Year 3 for Year 4 entry).  Activities could include coding, strumming some chords on the ukulele, going pond-dipping or writing a story.  Our girls will show her the ropes and make her feel welcome, and our staff will be on-hand to support and guide her during her visit.  

Year 7 2026 entry:

Step into the world of Year 7 at the Royal High School, Bath at one of our Autumn Term Taster Mornings.

This is your daughter’s chance to live a morning in the life of a Year 7 student — hands-on, fun-filled, and full of discovery. 

She might explore the wonders of Science with a dissection, get creative learning perspective in Art, crack a code in Maths, and try out the drums in Music.

Along the way, she’ll connect with current Year 7 girls, explore our facilities, and meet many of our inspiring staff. 

Years 8-11 & Sixth Form, 2026 entry and beyond:

Taster mornings are available on request and will be tailored to your daughter’s areas of interest.
