Cesca and Boo meet two eventing legends

On Sunday 29 January, Year 10 student Cesca and her pony Boo got to spend the day with two eventing legends - Laura Collett and Giovanni Ugolotti!
Laura is one of our top British Three Day Eventers having won a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics and won Badminton 2022. Gio Ugolotti is an Italian 5* Eventer who has competed successfully for his country and is currently aiming for the Paris Olympics.
Cesca, along with the six other junior winners from the Cotswold Cup Eventing Championships, spent the day at the Bombadil Equestrian Centre in Faringdon with Laura and Gio. The children got to train in both dressage and jumping on their own horses but were also able to spend time watching and learning as Laura and Gio rode and trained their incredible horses. There was also plenty of time for cake and conversation as the children got to ask lots of questions like how do you handle your nerves heading out to ride a cross country course like Badminton and what’s it like to fly a horse to Tokyo!
Cesca had an amazing time and really enjoyed meeting her fellow competitors as well as Gio and Laura. Boo also let us know that he was pretty chuffed to hang out to out with Laura and Gio!
