The auditorium was bursting with excitement last week as this year’s dance show, 'The Colour Within', lit up the stage. From the moment the lights rose, the audience was swept into a vibrant celebration of energy, talent and creativity - a true showcase of the incredible dance community here at Royal High.

Across the evening, each piece revealed something different: the individuality of our dancers, the strength of their technique, and the collaborative spirit that underpins everything they do. Expressive lyrical solos drew the audience in with emotion and nuance, while fast, dynamic full‑company numbers filled the stage with power, precision and sheer joy. Whether performing for the first time or returning to the stage as a more experienced dancer, every student brought their ideas to life with bravery, artistry and heart.

Backstage, the atmosphere was just as special, with a whirl of last‑minute rehearsals, costume changes, shared nerves and infectious excitement. It was clear how much dedication had gone into the show, not only from the performers but also from the staff and student leaders who supported, choreographed and encouraged throughout the process.

What a show it was. A huge well done to everyone involved - your hard work shone through every moment.
