Our brilliant students arrived in incredible Roman costumes and paraded around school showing off their creativity. Choosing winners was so tough, but huge congratulations to Rosie, Elizabeth, Honor, Lilian, Aria, Phoebe, April and Joanna for their standout outfits!

This year’s theme tied into our Stage 5 curriculum: Roman Comedy! Students explored classic characters and crafted stunning theatrical masks (with a little more glitter than the Romans probably used.

After lunch came the legendary Roman Drill, led by the formidable Centurion Clarus Maximus Binnius (aka Mrs Binney!) in full parade armour. Year 7 marched, turned, formed a testudo and even charged—no barbarian army would dare face them!

The afternoon was filled with laughter as the girls improvised and performed their own Roman-style comedies featuring pirates, monkeys, dramatic lovers, fight scenes and happy endings. Their energy was infectious!

Throughout the day, teachers awarded points for BRICKS learner qualities, and although all houses impressed, Bronte edged ahead to claim the prize!

A huge thank you to Dr Jane McCarthy, Mrs Binney, Dr Jenkin and Mrs Isom for making the day so special—and to Year 7 for showing the Royal High School at its absolute best.
