Mid Somerset Festival 2026 - Speech & Drama Success for RHB
Senior School, Performing Arts, Prep
Last week, a large number of our LAMDA students from both the Prep and Senior School took to the stage at the 125th annual Mid‑Somerset Festival. The Speech & Drama section has seen a significant rise in entries this year, and we were delighted to have a record number of RHB girls participating across a wide range of classes.
Every single competitor represented the school with talent, confidence and enthusiasm. The girls embraced the opportunity to perform to a wider audience, challenge themselves, and meet other young performers who share their passion for the arts.

A special congratulations goes to Maude (Y9), who not only won both of her classes but was also invited to perform at the Speech & Drama Winners’ Concert at the Mission Theatre. Following her monologue performance, she was awarded The Gilbert Cup for the most outstanding performer in Years 7–9 - a remarkable achievement and a testament to her dedication and hard work.
We are also thrilled to celebrate Pepper (Y11), who enjoyed outstanding success across her classes and brought home an impressive collection of silverware. Her performances were highly praised and contributed to an exceptional week for RHB at the festival.
Congratulations to all our LAMDA girls - we couldn’t be prouder of your achievements.
