Music is well and truly alive at the Prep School – Prep School Music Concert – 15 May 2025

Nursery and Prep School, Music

The Prep School was alive with music on Thursday evening as pupils took to the stage for a superb concert, brimming with talent, confidence and joy.

From captivating vocal solos to accomplished instrumental performances, the girls played and sang with poise and passion, delighting a packed audience of families and staff. The range and quality of the performances were truly inspiring.

Every year group was represented, with the youngest performer—just five years old from Reception—performing a charming piano duet with her teacher, Mrs Hammond. Girls from across the school, up to and including Year 6, showcased their skills through vocal and instrumental solos, duets, small ensembles and larger group pieces, including a wonderful performance by the orchestra. Highlights included performances from Mrs Millard’s Choir and Mr Millard’s Singers, as well as an impressive number of solo appearances—a testament to the confidence and musical growth encouraged by our thriving music programme.

The concert was led by Mrs Millard, Head of Performing Arts at the Prep, whose warmth and energy set the tone for a joyful evening. Her commitment to nurturing a love of music and performance in every pupil shone through. We are also deeply grateful to our talented team of peripatetic music teachers, whose dedication and behind-the-scenes support help each pupil to flourish.

“It really was a wonderful evening. The girls performed with such enthusiasm and confidence and I couldn’t have been prouder. The standard of performance was exceptional – a true reflection of the energy and creativity music brings to life at the Prep School.””
Claire Lilley, Head of Prep
