Year 7 Student's Handmade Scrunchies Raise Nearly £300 for Charity

We are incredibly proud of Year 7 student Niamh, who has been fundraising tirelessly for The Carers’ Centre in Bath, a charity that has provided invaluable support to her and her family. With her mum preparing to run the Bath Half Marathon next weekend to raise money for the centre, Niamh was determined to do her part. While she’s too young to take part in the race herself, she found a creative way to contribute—by crocheting scrunchies in our RHB school colours and selling them during break times at school (with a little help from her friends!).

Multi-award-winning author Kiran Millwood Hargrave visit

Students enjoyed an end of term treat when we were delighted to welcome the multi-award-winning author Kiran Millwood Hargrave to Royal High. Kiran has won, and been shortlisted for, many book awards including the Waterstones Children's Book Prize and the British Book Awards Children's Book. Most recently in 2023 she was awarded the Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing for Children for Leila and the Fox. Many of the students in years 5, 6 and 7 were already familiar with Kiran’s books and were very excited to hear about the latest book in her new Geomancer trilogy The Storm and the Sea Hawk.

Sixth Form Winter Ball

Our Sixth Form girls stepped back in time to the Roaring Twenties with their Great Gatsby themed winter ball. Organised by our students themselves, the night was a celebration of glitz and glamour, and the Sixth Form community spirit. It was an unforgettable evening of fun and laughter, with fantastic djing from Music Tech student Jemima.Â
