RHS Boarders' first week back

Sixth Form, Senior School

Royal High Boarding welcomed back returning and new boarders from around the world for the start of a new academic year. After a long week first week of quarantine and online lessons, the boarders were excited and looking forward to their planned weekend activities in the school grounds. It was an excellent weekend with a wide variety of activities aimed to keep the boarders active and busy, and also an opportunity to form new friendships.

Anastasiia Year 11

"At the moment School House boarding is in quarantine therefore we spend most of our school day inside. On Saturday we had a fitness class with Miss Standerline outside on the field, it was fun. We had an hour of working out that included cardio and strength exercises. Once we finished everyone felt so refreshed and rejuvenated."

Isabel Year 9

"I am a year nine boarder new to Royal High and my first impression of the school has been really good. I think they have organised the quarantine very well and made it easy for us. All the boarders here are sweet and welcoming, I already have made some new friends. The boarding staff and teachers are very attentive to our needs and problems and they are very nice."

Sheilja Year 9

"On Saturday Year 9s decorated tote bags, I found this activity fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Everyone made pretty tote bags with different designs. There were lots of materials which were laid out on the table for us to use. I sewed a small purple fabric panel to the bottom of my bag and then drew on the remaining top part which was plain. The weekend has been relaxing and also fun."

Cherleen Year 6

"I am a new boarder at Royal High and I already love the boarding house. The boarding staff and other boarders are really nice and welcoming. I already feel like the boarding house is my home, it makes me feel warm inside. The activities we have done this weekend have been interesting, I am looking forward to taking part in more next weekend."
